The time is always right to do what is right.

We are all experiencing a truly unprecedented time. The coronavirus COVID-19 global pandemic is affecting every aspect of our lives, from how we work to how we conduct our daily lives at home with our families. Therefore, all NAACP branches are under direct order from our national office to have NO face-to-face meetings or any gatherings that could possibly cause anyone to contract COVID-19.

Our primary concern is the health and safety of you and our community. As such, the NAACP Clearwater / Upper Pinellas County Branch in conjunction with the City of Clearwater will be hosting a VIRTUAL Dr. MLK Jr. Day Program this year on Monday, January 18, 2021 via our website https://clearwaternaacp.com/mlk-jr-day-2021 and social media platforms at 1 p.m. Our special guest speaker this year is Val Demings, United States House Representative, District 10.

We request you, your congregation and/or your organization participate by creating a yard sign honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 

We appreciate you informing your various congregations and organizations of the program and hope to see you at our virtual event.
 

Please join the NAACP Clearwater Upper Pinellas Branch in conjunction with the City of Clearwater in our Virtual Celebration on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 1 p.m. via this website and other social media platforms. 

This year we are asking residents and families to design a yard sign commemorating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 

You can pick up your blank yard sign and wire stake at these various locations: Clearwater North Greenwood Library and Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

Additionally, you are welcome to construct your own art (collage, poster, or sign) to display in a window or on a mailbox. If feasible, please display your art so that everyone can see and share in our celebration of honoring of Dr. King. Take a photo of YOU and your artwork so that we may include it in a visual presentation during our Virtual event. 

1. Pick up a FREE blank sign at the Clearwater North Greenwood Library. (While supplies last)

2. Create a yard sign with art, pictures and quotes honoring the work of Martin Luther King Jr.

3. Email your creation to NAACP5096@gmail.com to be displayed in our MLK Jr. Day Virtual Celebration by Jan. 15, 2021. 

4. Take a picture with your artwork and share it with #IAMTHEDREAM2021

5. Share your creation at your home for others to enjoy and to commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
